NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the Governing Body of the Borough of Audubon Park, that the following is a lost of the meetings of the body for the year 2008. All such meetings shall be held at 7:00pm, upstairs in the library and are divided into categories of meetings, which formal action may be taken and at which no formal action may be taken.

The Tax Collector will be at the Borough of Audubon Park, Second Floor, in the Library the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from 9 AM until 12 PM to do the following forms: PD65 Senior Deduction Form, PTR (Property Tax Relief), and NJ Saver (Homestead) Rebate which we will file on-line. Please call the Borough Clerk's Office at 547-5236 and schedule an appointment between those times.

PROPERTY TAX DEDUCTIONS

The State of New Jersey, administered through the local municipal Assessor’s Office, makes available property tax deductions to qualifying property owners. Each deduction has specific qualifications and requires the filing of an application.

Economic Stimulus Rebate Check - Deadline Extended to 10/15/08

You may be eligible for a onetime rebate of $300. The United States Congress and President Bush signed into law the Economic Stimulus Act of 2008. The vast majority of Americans who did quality for the economic aid rebate will not have to do anything other than file their 2007 income tax return to receive their payment. BUT, Seniors and/or individuals with limited means who normally don’t need to file a federal tax return
MUST FILE A 1040A FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURN
In order to receive this one-time payment. You are eligible for a payment if you have a total of $3,000 or more in qualifying income.

DRPA Finance Committee Approves New Bridge Toll And PATCO Fare Schedules

The Finance Committee of the Delaware River Port Authority has approved changes to bridge toll and PATCO fare schedules.Seniors will now be given until September 1, 2010, to get an E-ZPass transponder to qualify for the discount, however, those who get the transponder sooner will see a larger discount. As of September 14th, seniors enrolled in the program who have a transponder will see a 75-cent increase in their discounted rate when the new toll schedule takes effect while those who continue to use the senior coupons will have to pay $1.00 more. INCOME NOT TO EXCEED $10,000 OVER AND ABOVE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS AND/OR GOVERNMENT PENSIONS. PROOF OF AGE IS REQUIRED. SURVIVING SPOUSE MUST BE 55 YEARS OF AGE

DISABLED PERSON DEDUCTION AND SURVIVING SPOUSE OF A DISABLED PERSON - $250.00

QUALIFICATIONS: OWN AND RESIDE IN THE PROPERTY APPLYING FOR ON OR BEFORE OCTOBER 1 OF THE PRETAX YEAR. PERMANENTLY AND TOTALLY DISABLED AS OF DECEMBER 1 OF THE PRETAX YEAR. INCOME NOT TO EXCEED $10,000 OVER AND ABOVE DISABILITY BENEFITS. PROOF OF PERMANENT DISABILITY – SOCIAL SECURITY AWARD CERTIFICATE OR DOCTOR’S NOTE.

CONTINUANCE OF THESE DEDUCTIONS –MUST RETURN AN ANNUAL POST TAX YEAR STATEMENT TO THE TAX COLLECTOR’S OFFICE ON OR BEFORE MARCH 1ST OF EACH TAX YEAR.

VETERANS OR SURVIVING SPOUSE OF A VETERAN DEDUCTION - $250.00

QUALIFICATIONS: OWN PROPERTY ON OR BEFORE OCTOBER 1 OF THE PRETAX YEAR POSSESS AN HONORABLE DISCHARGE FROM ACTIVE SERVICE IN TIME OF WAR. **Peacekeeping Missions require actual service in a combat zone for a total of 14 days, unless a service injury was received in a combat zone.
