RE: 2008 BOROUGH COUNCIL BUDGET

On June 30, 2008, Governor Corzine signed his 2008-2009 state of New Jersey Budget. This allows small towns like Audubon Park to finally finish our budgets. Although there was a significant decrease in aid to our Municipality (over $65,000), I am proud to say that Bourough Council has approved their budget and, for the second consecutive year, there will be no tax increase to the residents of Audubon Park. We realize with the increase in our school taxes, among other things, that it was important for us to maintain our current tax level. Through increased revenues from our school rental and surplus (which we accumulated from last year), we were able to pass on a NO INCREASE budget to our residents

I would like to thank everyone that took the time to contact the Governor and our elected officials, protesting our complete loss in state aid. Although we didn't receive all the money back, your voice was heard.

If you have any questions pertaining to the budget, I invite you to attend our August 5, 2008 meeting at 7 PM at the Community Hall and we will be happy to answer them during our regular scheduled meeting.
